Jungle · 1999The set that followed Base Set — and introduced the Eeveelutions

Jungle arrived on June 16, 1999, five months after Base Set, and it is where a lot of collectors’ second-ever pack came from. Sixty-four cards, sixteen of them holo rare — and three of those holos are the first Eeveelutions ever printed.

None of these 8 cards are part of the 64-card Jungle Master Set — they carry a Jungle number or came out of a Jungle pack, but none of them was distributed in the ordinary way. The 16 No Symbol holos are the other printing outside the master set: the same 16 holo rares, printed without the set symbol. Switch them on in the binder to lay them out with the set.

What binder does 64 cards need?

Since the Jungle 1st Edition Master Set has a total of 64 cards you’ll need:

  • 9-pocket binder — 8 dual-sided pages
  • 12-pocket binder — 6 dual-sided pages

Always leave extra room — graded slabs, the Unlimited printing and the 16 No Symbol holos all need somewhere to go.

We use the Vault X Exo-Tec 9-pocket zip binder.

Your Jungle Master Set Questions, Answered

How many cards are in the Jungle Master Set?

A full Jungle Master Set contains:

16 holo rares
16 rares
16 uncommons
16 commons

Total: 64 cards — 147 once you count every Jungle printing

What counts as a complete Jungle Master Set?

A complete Jungle Master Set is the 64 numbered cards, in 1st Edition, Unlimited, or both — they are the same set, and the black “Edition 1” stamp is the only difference between them.

The 16 No Symbol holos (the same holo rares, printed without the set symbol), the three set-numbered promos and the prerelease Clefable are usually treated as optional additions for a Grand Master Set.

How many binder pages do I need for a Jungle Master Set?

For a 64-card Jungle Master Set you’ll need:

✔ 9-pocket binder — 8 dual-sided pages
✔ 12-pocket binder — 6 dual-sided pages

If you are aiming for the 147-printing Grand Master Set:

✔ 9-pocket binder — 17 dual-sided pages
✔ 12-pocket binder — 13 dual-sided pages

We always recommend leaving extra room: graded slabs and the No Symbol holos all need somewhere to go.

Are promos part of a Jungle Master Set?

In short, no. Promos are released separately from the main numbered expansion — the Jungle-numbered ones (the prerelease Clefable, the gold-border Meowth and the Duelist W Pikachu) were given out outside the booster packs.

Many collectors still add them, along with the 16 No Symbol holos and the error cards. That expanded version is often called a Grand Master Set.

How much does it cost to master Jungle?

Based on ungraded sold comps at PriceCharting, the 1st Edition Jungle Master Set totals $1,780.26 — that is every one of the 64 cards, not including promos and variants.

Prices move over time, so treat this as a current market estimate rather than a fixed checklist value. The Grand Master Set, with the No Symbol holos and the three set-numbered promos, costs noticeably more — the prerelease Clefable alone sells for more than any card in the set.

Method. Every figure here is the ungraded market value from PriceCharting, sold-comp data, October 7, 2026 — refreshed monthly. The total is one copy of each of the 64 numbered 1st Edition cards, summed; the PSA 10 figure is unconditioned PSA 10 market values for the same 64 cards.
