Disclaimer — Chasing Cards Guide
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Chasing Cards Guide is a fan-made reference site about collecting Pokémon cards. This page says plainly what this site is, where its images and prices come from, and how it makes money. It is short on purpose. The privacy policy covers data; this page covers everything else.
We are not an official Pokémon site
Chasing Cards Guide is independent and fan-made. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., The Pokémon Company International, or Wizards of the Coast. It is not a shop, and nothing here is sold on their behalf.
Pokémon, Pokémon character names, set names and related names are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc. Those names appear here to describe and identify cards — that is what a card reference is for.
Card images, artwork and other third-party material
Card scans and product images are served from third-party sources, including PriceCharting, pokemontcg.io and TCGplayer. We do not claim copyright in any of it. Card artwork, card images, set logos and character names belong to their respective owners, and they appear here for identification, reference, comparison and commentary — the purpose the site exists for.
Quotes and research from other sites are attributed and linked rather than copied. Where we have had to reconstruct something because no primary source states it, the page says so.
What our prices are — and what they are not
Prices on this site are estimates calculated from public sold-listing data, and the page they appear on shows the date they were taken. They are reference figures, not appraisals. They are not offers to buy or sell, not a guarantee of what any card will fetch, and not financial advice.
Card markets move, and individual sales vary enormously with condition, centering, print quality and who happens to be bidding that week. A card's grade can multiply or divide its value. Before you spend money on a card, check current sold listings yourself — our numbers are a starting point, not an answer.
Affiliate links and how this site earns
Some outbound links here are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the retailer may pay this site a commission. You never pay more because of it, and it never changes a recommendation, a ranking or a rating: no brand pays for placement, and our prices come from sold-comp data rather than from a partner.
This site is a participant in the eBay Partner Network, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to eBay. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some grading, supply and marketplace links are referrals on the same basis. Once you follow an affiliate link, that retailer's own terms and privacy policy apply, not ours — we do not control what they do with your data.
Nothing here is professional advice
Grades, print runs, error cards and prices are described as carefully as we can manage, but this is a collector's reference, not professional advice of any kind — not financial, not investment, not legal, and not a substitute for authentication by a recognised grader. Decisions you make about buying, selling, grading or holding cards are yours.
Accuracy, corrections and rights
We work from primary sources: journals, print-run documentation, official announcements, grading company records, and collector forums carrying primary evidence. When sources disagree, both sides are named rather than one being presented as settled. Even so, we get things wrong — if you find an error, tell us on the contact page and we will fix it and say that we did.
If you own rights to material on this site and want it changed, credited differently or removed, contact us with the page address and we will act on it promptly.
