Japanese Fan Club Promos Card List

The Pokémon Card Fan Club ran from 1999 to 2002 and paid members GET Points — for joining, for attending official events, and for getting a submission printed in Trainers magazine. Points bought cards, and the three headline rewards are here: Eevee at 500 points, Shining Magikarp at 600 and Porygon at 700. None was ever sold in a shop and none prints a collector number, which is why a Fan Club card is a different animal from the same Pokémon in a set: the Eevee here is not the Wizards Black Star promo, and the Shining Magikarp is not the Neo Revelation card — different artwork, different illustrator, different price. This page lists every card with its printings priced separately — 4 printing records — and every one opens its own record with the prices, the printing notes and where to buy.

Japanese Fan Club Promos At a Glance

How many cards are in the Japanese Fan Club Promos?

The set holds 4 cards, released 2000. This site tracks 4 printings of them (Holo 4), each with its own record and price.

What printings does it have?

One holo printing each, and no 1st Edition or Unlimited run — these are points rewards, not a set. The cards print no collector number, so the number shown is the Pokédex number the price source files them by. Sources: Pokumon's Pokemon Card Fan Club article; prices and scans from PriceCharting.

What is the most valuable card in the set?

Shining Magikarp [600 Fan Club] #129 at $5,176 raw, about $17,600 in PSA 10. One raw copy of every printing here totals $10,806.

How do these cards relate to the English printing?

No English version of these cards exists. The English Wizards Black Star promo Eevee is a different card different artwork and illustrator, distributed through the Pokemon League, so these are the only printings of these cards that were ever made. They are one of just two Japanese releases of the era with no English counterpart at all.

How do I tell a Japanese Fan Club Promos card apart from the English printing?

Turn it over, which is the quickest tell there is: this set predates July 2001, when Japanese cards carried the Pocket Monsters Card Game back — a design no English card ever had, against the blue Pokémon back. The back changed once, with Pokémon VS in July 2001, so the back alone dates a card to this era.

Either way, the symbol beside the number is the Japanese set's own, not the English set's.

Prices are PriceCharting sold comps read 2026-11-07 and are per printing. This set is not in TCGdex, and no structured fact source covers it, so rarity, type and illustrator are omitted rather than guessed. One raw copy of every printing on this page totals $10,806.
