Printing

Expedition Base Set was printed in 1st Edition and Unlimited runs, and this card also exists as For Position Only. Tap a printing to open its page.

For Position Only — a test card, not a print run. FPO cards were proofed before the set went to press to check the placement and size of the artwork; this run escaped the print facility rather than being distributed, and only eight artworks exist — Alakazam, Ampharos, Arbok, Blastoise, Clefable, Charizard, Dugtrio and the Manhole information card (Elite Fourum, FPO guide and Masters Guide for WotC test cards). How to tell: the words FOR POSITION ONLY are printed across the card art, the word “Medium” appears in small black type in the bottom-left corner, and on the Charizard the HP is missing from the top-right. Note that PSA and BGS stopped grading FPO cards in 2015 because they are not officially released cards, so a slab should not be treated as proof that one is genuine.
