Pokémon Web · 2001A reprint set sold by mail — and the home of the Dark Charizard holo

Pokémon Web arrived in Japan on October 20, 2001, sold through the Pokémon Web mail-order service rather than in shops, and it was never released in English. It is a 48-card reprint set: existing cards pulled back into one print run, led by the Dark Charizard and Gengar holos that carry most of its value.

What binder does 48 cards need?

Since the Japanese Web 1st Edition Master Set has a total of 48 cards you’ll need:

  • 9-pocket binder — 6 dual-sided pages
  • 12-pocket binder — 4 dual-sided pages

Always leave extra room — graded slabs and the Unlimited run both need somewhere to go.

We use the Vault X Exo-Tec 9-pocket zip binder.

Your Japanese Web Master Set Questions, Answered

How many cards are in the Japanese Web Master Set?

A full Japanese Pokémon Web Master Set contains 48 cards, in 1st Edition, Unlimited, or both — they are the same cards, and the black “Edition 1” stamp is the only difference between them.

Counting both printings the binder runs to 95 printings.

Was Pokémon Web ever released in English?

In short, no. Pokémon Web was a Japanese-only mail-order release and its cards were never reprinted as an English set — which is why it has its own master set page rather than sitting inside an English set as an extra printing.

How many binder pages do I need for a Japanese Web Master Set?

For a 48-card Japanese Web Master Set you’ll need:

✔ 9-pocket binder — 6 dual-sided pages
✔ 12-pocket binder — 4 dual-sided pages

If you are aiming for the 95-printing Grand Master Set — both printings:

✔ 9-pocket binder — 11 dual-sided pages
✔ 12-pocket binder — 8 dual-sided pages

Do promos or error cards belong to Pokémon Web?

No. The plan is the whole extra here — each card’s second printing. There is no Web promo line and no documented error printing.

How much does it cost to master Pokémon Web?

Based on ungraded sold comps at PriceCharting, the 1st Edition Japanese Web Master Set totals $9,630.09 — all 48 cards.

Prices move over time, so treat this as a current market estimate rather than a fixed checklist value. The top of the set is Gengar #47, followed by Dark Charizard #42.

Method. Every figure here is the ungraded market value from PriceCharting, sold-comp data, October 28, 2026 — refreshed weekly. The total is one copy of each of the 48 numbered 1st Edition cards, summed; the PSA 10 figure is unconditioned PSA 10 market values for the same 48 cards.
